Yoga on the Balcony in Tolka

After a seven-hour first day of uphill hiking during our 10-day trek in the Annapurna sanctuary through Nepal’s majestic Himalaya mountain range, Jim and I stopped at Namaste Guesthouse in the town of Tolka for our first night.

We were the only people staying there, so we had a quiet first evening watching the sunset behind the mountains. I did yoga on the balcony underneath Tibetan prayer flags, Jim took a nap, and we ate vegetable curry and dal bhat (traditional Nepalese dish with lentil soup, rice, curry and pickled vegetables) for our first dinner on the trail.
