My Experience:

My first trip to India was an eye-opening experience in culture, crowds and cuisine. I’ve never been somewhere where everything is so incredibly different from where I come from.

I was excited to find Bikram yoga in Mumbai because I needed something familiar; I needed to reset my outlook and feel and look healthy again after several twelve-hour train rides with fried banana chips as my only form of sustenance.

I walked out of the populated, noisy and polluted streets of Mumbai and into the clean Bollywood City studio in Bandra and met a guest teacher, Olga, who is a student of my teacher back in San Diego. I immediately felt at home.

Olga taught a lively class in a perfectly heated room. I felt calm and simultaneously energized, detoxified and rested.

The hazy orange sunset descended from outside the studio’s westward-facing window as I inhaled fresh oxygen and exhaled my physical, emotional and spiritual toxins—a perfect setting that told me everything was going to be okay.

The Traveling Yogi graciously accepts sponsorships, in part or full, from partnerships with conscious businesses—the experiences and reviews are always honest. I feel blessed and humbled by the encouragement from companies around the world who support my mission and keep me going. Namaste.

    Hi there!

Do you know if this studio is still open? Or do you know of any other Bikram studios in Bandra? I will be there for 3 weeks this summer and was hoping to go for classes while I was there. Let me know if you know of anything! Its been impossible to look for information online and the site you suggested up top doesnt work anymore.

Hi Zoya. You can go on the bikram yoga website and choose “class finder” to get a list of current studios. Or google Bikram Yoga in the area you wish to visit and see if there is a studio there. Regards.
