What is Kava?

Not only is kava a healing plant, but also a staple for many cultures throughout the Pacific. In Fiji particularly, Kava is the center of many traditions, including weddings, social gatherings, and we even took a bundle of kava with us to a neighboring village as a gesture of respect for the community.

Kauai Tiki Culture

I was blessed to run into Keoni Durant in Hanalei during my stay on Kauai after the epic Kalalau Trail Hike. His Pomeranian, Leo, lured my friends and I from the natural foods store, so we stopped to talk and learn about what he does.
